Ellie is a cloud-based data-modelling app (keywords: data vault, data warehouse, conceptual modeling). I provided manual, exploratory and regression testing for the web app running on Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
Wrote and updated test cases; maintained Gherkin-based test scripts and feature stories.
Created TestCafé-based E2E tests, including converting the existing Gherkin tests into TestCafé scripts.
Bridge between design and development: sat in as the designer presented the work, then teased out the under-specified details so the spec could be improved before code — spec-driven development — and captured the agreed behaviour as Gherkin (test-driven). Direct conversations with the designer and product owner about UX/UI issues.
Maintained Confluence documentation and changelogs, and did copywriting of feature descriptions — the dual track of finding what's broken and describing what works clearly.
As my time at Ellie wound down, I worked through the aging backlog the Product Owner had never prioritised — fixing the accumulated small bugs and neglected tickets myself. The inverse of "death by a thousand cuts": life by a thousand heals.
